Coach Ricci was born and raised in Southern California where he attended Brea-Olinda High School and was a three-year Varsity middle linebacker and team captain.  He went on to play at Long Beach City College and the University of New Mexico where his career was cut short due to injuries.  Coach Ricci transferred to Arizona State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree and later attended University of Southern California where he earned an MBA and his Master’s in Teaching.  He is currently teaching History and Economics at Capo.

He is going on his 5th year as the Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line coach for Capo Valley High School where he led the team to the #1 Scoring Defense in Orange County, 59 sacks and 90 tackles for loss in 2016. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Defensive Line Coach and Defensive Quality Control for Eastern Michigan University in 2012.

Coach Ricci lives in Mission Viejo with Jenny, his wife of 24 years, and their two boys Jake (19) and Brock (18).

Born and raised in the city of Miami Florida where you are taught at a young age anything short of greatness is selling yourself short. As a captain of three sports football, basketball and track I picked up many skills that could be used to teach athletes and fitness lovers to greatness. Taught and groomed by some of the most prolific coaches in the world I learned what it was to push my limits and make hard things easy. Received college offers by some of the most prominent universities in the country I chose to attend Colorado State university where I played as a true freshman and throughout my entire career there. This taught me valuable things about training and about life. Upon leaving attempted the professional career of football. When this didn't happen I yearned to teach young athletes the many things I learned on all levels. I begin to coach and make athletes better in southern Orange County and formed Lion's Den Athletics. Here my main focus is getting fitness lovers to the next level through intensity and science proven workouts all while making it a fun experience. Our main slogan is "We don't get weary". I say this a ton because life will throw tons of adversity at you, but you can't get weary. If you continue to work and persevere, the sky is the limit.
